1. Goal 1 Research the financial needs of opening a Dental Assisting School.<br />Objective 1.1 By week 5, I will have the location and cost determined.<br />Objective 1.2 By week 6 I will have an estimate of equipment cost.<br />Objective 1.3 By week 8 I will determine employee payroll and prepare a draft of my business plan to present to possible funders and advisors.<br />Expected outcome: To have my business plan and funding sources identified.<br />Goal 2 Create the dental assisting curriculum.<br />Objective 2.1 By week 6 I will research the CODA standards for an accredited dental assisting program. <br />Objective 2.2 By week 10 I will complete the curriculum plan reflecting the appropriate curriculum and faculty required.<br />Expected outcome: To have the program schedule developed.<br />Goal 3 Research the legal requirements for operating a dental assisting school.<br />Objective 3.1 By week 11 write the policies and procedures for handling emergencies, admission process, and student requirements.<br />Objective 3.2 By week 11 obtain the application for accreditation.<br />Objective 3.3 By week 11 have necessary applications for occupancy and licensure.<br />Objective 3.4 By week 12 have a marketing plan developed.<br />Expected outcome: Have all necessary applications and policies documented.<br />Goal 4 Create a manual documenting the steps necessary to start a dental assisting school.<br />Objective 4.1 By week 12 have an outline of chapters to be included.<br />Objective 4.2 By week 13 have manual complete and bound for practicum completion.<br />Expected outcome: The manual created will be used as a template and business plan as I consider initiating a dental assisting training program.<br />
