2. Introduction:
The Treaty Of Paris was signed in 1763 by King
George iii from England. The British wanted all
the land that they could get so they made a
Treaty with the French saying that the French
must give England all of the Canadian land that
they had uncovered but, one island may stay
French. In return for taking the majority of the
land, the French island was allowed to stay
Roman Catholic.
3. The Outcome:
If this treaty was not signed, the British
culture and religion would not be part of
our Canadian identity.
4. The Purpose Of Treaties:
Treaties are used to make agreements between
two or more countries that are in conflict and/or
disadvantage. These countries will sign the
treaty. Usually, trades are made when a treaty is
signed.
5. Modern Day Treaties:
Today, treaties are used for the exact
same purpose as they were when the
first treaties were made. Trades and
agreements are the most common
cases of a treaty being signed for.
