This document discusses iconic visual elements of film noir, including monochrome filters that add mystery, femme fatales that portray danger and lust, and mood lighting that creates a sense of danger and mystery by showing discreet murder and characters hiding or spying on victims.

2. Objects recognised within noir:
• The below are in most of noir films, if not all,
these iconic styles/objects mean that
nowadays people know that they are watching
the genre of noir.

3. Monochrome Filters
• Throughout my noir shoot, I tended to use a
black and white filter. Due to the fact that I felt
that this filter helps to add a sense of mystery
and date towards the photos. Also this filter
method is also easily linked with film noir etc.

4. Femme Fatale
• The image on the left shows our femme fatale. As you can see from both
pictures that most femme fatales are portrayed with danger and lust. By
both of the below pictures involving weapons, this reinforces my earlier
point of danger. Normally the femme fatale leads one of the characters
who she wants to kill.

5. Mood Lighting
• During our film noir shoot our group attempted to see what
mood lighting would do to the photos, it is clear that it adds a
sense of danger and mystery due to the fact that, the photo in
the bottom left shows our femme fetale discretely murder
one of our main characters. And in the other photo its clear
that he’s hiding from someone who he feels he may have to
kill. The blinds add a sense of spying on there victim to
reinforce my earlier point of danger and mystery.
