4. Audience and theme
• The main audience bass for this film would be from
teenagers to adults. This can be learnt from the themes
of crime and murder, not really associated with a
younger audience bass. If you are looking at a selective
audience you would look more into males as the
action/thriller genre is associated with male viewers. The
main theme you gather from this is of terrorism which
has connotations of greed and anger.
5. Camera Angles
•
Throughout this sequence a variety of camera angles and shots are
used. The sequence mostly begins with established shots showing
the huge compound buildings. This connotes richness and therefore
when you learn about the criminals you feel they are planning to go
into somewhere like a bank. The sequence then goes onto show a
variety of wide shots (mise en scene 2) to show a detail of what the
place is and what the people are doing. A pan shot is also used
showing the criminals wire across the buildings. When the action
takes place a couple of slow zooms are used to build into a reaction
shots. This connotes suspense as the audience what to see what
will come from this negative reaction.
6. Sound
• In this sequence mostly non diegetic sound is used. This
is used at a fast throughout the scene to build tension
and suspense. When the tension increases so does the
tone of the sound. A lot of diegetic sounds are used as
well coming in the forms of hostages screaming,
shouting and the firing of guns, vehicle noises and other
mechanical objects. As the whole sequence is filled with
sound it builds more tension as a faced pace feel keeps
on going.
7. Binary Opposites
• You could link into this sequence the binary
opposites theory. This theory could come into
place linking together the robbers who look
unclean, baggy and generally scruffy comparing
them to the smart, well dressed men and
women. This bringing together the opposites of
rich vs. poor.
8. Vladirmirprop Theory
• Certain aspects of this theory come into the sequence.
The source of the villain obviously comes from the
criminals with the antagonist being the joker. The reward
for them would come in the source of payments as it is a
bank. The final character would be the helper being the
man with the gun trying to defend the bank.
