Object: Letter of reference for Hans-Philipp Hauser
Instituion: Diplomatic Academy of Vienna December 20th, 2015
To whom it may concern.
I had the pleasure to teach to Hans-Philipp Hauser at the University of Montreal the course POL 2350 -
“European Political Systems” during the fall 2012 semester. While being a student of mine, I would rank him in the top
2% of students that I have taught in respect of his writing ability and research skills.
His open mind and cultural awareness is the result of having lived in three different continents (Africa, Europe
and North America). Hans-Philipp has an excellent knowledge of international and European policies and distinguished
himself by submitting an well written comparative work of populist parties in Austria and France.
Considering his current interests, I recommend Mr. Hauser for the Diploma Programme at the Diplomatic
Academy of Vienna. His overall knowledge of European political systems is excellent. And as the son of a diplomat, Hans-
Philipp traveled a lot. He also has very good interpersonal skills and intercultural abilities that makes him an excellent
team member.
Overall, Hans-Philipp‘s trillingualism, enthusiasm, his remarkable ability to learn from different cultures, his
generosity, energy and dedication will make him a fine student at the prestigious Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. He is at
an important stage in his career and I am persuaded that your approval will allow him to achieve the goal he has always
aimed for.
As a consequence, I recommend to you Hans-Philipp Hauser for your program at the Diplomatic Academy of
Vienna.
Please, feel free to contact me should you require any further information.
