About Me

Like many African American women, I have struggled with the challenges of growing my hair
and keeping it healthy. I have had more than 8 hair stylists and double the hair disasters. After
years and years of frustration, I have learned that all over America there are black hair salons
filled with stylists that do not know how to grow long healthy black hair. I decided to take control
                                   of my hair care regimen.

First, I decided to think about what I had been doing because clearly it was not working. Every
six weeks I got a relaxer and a trim. Every six weeks. I noticed that towards the end of the six
weeks my hair began to break. When my stylists trimmed my hair, they chopped off more than
my new growth. My stylist would roller set my hair then style it with a flat iron. At the end of my
salon visit, my hair would look amazing, an just a little shorter. In addition, I would flat iron my
hair my hair at home on almost a daily basis.

My sister was also fed up with our hairstylist and decided to start going to a tricologist who had
just opened up a new salon. I was skeptical at first and was convinced that my hair just could
not grow past my shoulders. Finally, I gave in and made my first appointment.

During my initial analysis I was informed that I was doing everything wrong. I was using the
wrong relaxer, the wrong shampoo and the wrong moisturizers. There are a couple of things
that I had to learn on my own. Finally, I have which grows past my shoulders. And it is still
growing. Several women have asked me how my hair grew and if theirs can grow too. Of course
                                   the answer is yes!

                                                                                                                                  1/1
