Subnetting Net+ Week 3
What is Subnetting? Subnetting is the process of taking one IP network address and creating two or more sub-addresses. By changing the subnet mask, you are now able to create/produce/make an even number of mini/smaller network that each has their own range of corresponding IP addresses.
When to Subnet? It is done when you want to add more LAN segment to the current network. Free up bandwidth Localizing department (Accounting, HR, Sales)
How does it work? An IP address is a 32 bit number divided into 4 sections of 8 bits called octets. The address can also be split into a network and host portion.
