The Pakistan Military Academy was established in 1947 and is located in Abbottabad, 5 hours from the capital city. It trains cadets for 2 years over 4 terms, with around 1000 cadets organized into 3 battalions and 12 companies. The academy focuses on both academic studies like computer, mathematics, politics and history, as well as military studies including map reading, tactics, weapons training, and exercises. Cadets undergo a rigorous physical training program and are evaluated through tests and competitions over the 4 terms.
