The letter summarizes several problems with the health sector in the Caqueta department of Colombia. It notes that the infrastructure has problems, there is a lack of technology and supplies, and the government has been indifferent and non-autonomous leading to administrative and financial issues. Specific issues called out are that malaria is understaffed and unable to meet coverage expectations, and rural areas are not being properly served. The letter asks the mayor of Florencia to help address these problems affecting citizens.

Re: Complaint
Susana Portela
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of some problems I could realize in the hospitals of
our department, Caqueta are:
•The health sector in Caquetá have infrastructure problems,
•Lack of technology and inputs to function and ensure the quality of service.
•This government has been indifferent and has no autonomy. The lawlessness has led to
administrative and financial problems are slow. To date there have not been disbursed
resources, we do not know what will happen with accomplished facts that have been
generated in the process of execution of services in the Caquetá by the health sector. This
government has not started for us with the health sector, which passes through an
unprecedented crisis.
•Malaria is operating with 13 staff, and in no way meets the expectations of coverage the
department should have due to they are dedicated to putting out fires. On the other hand, the
rural area are not being reached as established by the national government. What is malaria,
dengue, Chagas disease and endemic diseases have increased in Caquetá.
•
I would appreciate it if you as a foremost authority in Florencia city are interested in helping to
solve these problems that are affecting our citizenship.
Sincerely,
Edward Trujillo Manjarres
