1. Length Investigation
Aim:
To investigate the relationship between height and how far people can jump.
Hypothesis:
I predict that taller people will jump more further than shorter people.
Materials;
Measuring tape
Ruler
Scrap paper
Pencil
Clipboard
20 people
Method:
1. Measure the height of 20 people.
2. Measure each person with their back to the wall because it be straight.
3.Write the measurement on scap paper.
4.Measure 20 people’s standing jump.
5.Record their jumps on scrap paper.

2. Conclusion:
We can jump furtherthan our height. On average, we can jump 15.35cm further
than our height.
My hypothesis was correct. Taller people jumped further than shorter people. I
can see this on my graph. There is a linear relationship between height and jump.
But, it’s not true for everyone. Some people were short but jumped far. Some
people were tall but jumped a shorter distance. Sometimes the results depend on
how good people are at jumping.
Discussion:
Our sample size was only 20 people. We would need to measured more
people so we can be sure of our results. We could try fat people and thin
people to see if body size changes the results.
It was hard do to the measure because everyone’s jumps were different. I
found it hard to draw the line when the people were taller than me.
Next, I would like to measure teachers and adults’ heights.
