2. You have had a bad day at Uni, its been
raining, your hair is a mess, your hungry, your
parents have been nagging and your dying for a
wee…
3. You finally get onto your street and see that cars and bumper to bumper and
you should probably park in the next street over.
Its raining and you have a lot to carry so you chance your luck at a tight space
right outside your front door…
4. As you start to parallel park you notice this space is a bit
snug… oh dear!
You continue to try and park but to your horror you hit
the car behind…. Dum dum dum!!!
You notice the car belongs to your friendly neighbour
Margarie but you know this is going to be an insurance
job, you cant afford for your premium to go up as you are
a struggling student.
WHAT DO YOU DO????
5. Choices
Check there’s nobody
around, if not, leave
quickly and mention
it to nobody
Write your details on
a piece of paper and
leave it on her
windscreen, with an
apology
Go and knock on
Margarie’s door.
There is no
reply, return and try
again or just forget
about it?
6. You drive off in a panic, you decide that Marge
probably has more money than you (a
struggling student) so you justify your choice in
your mind.
You have got away with it!
Later that day… your conscience starts kicking
in and you have an element of doubt in your
mind about whether or not you have done the
right thing, Margarie is a pensioner after all.
7. The next day you leave your house for
university, Margarie is upset on her doorstep, looking at
the damage on her car.
She turns to you, upset that someone could damage her
car and not say a word.
She explains how she cannot afford to repair the
damage and it is now no longer fit to drive, it’s the bus
for Margarie now.
You are left devastated and riddled with guilt but you
have cornered yourself so you have to continue with
your sordid secret. POOR MARGE!
8. You hit the car and instantly know you are to blame and
responsibly for the damage. You accept your insurance premium
will be raised and costs will be incurred. You are devastated but it
was the morally correct thing to do… you need to sleep at night.
9. Later that evening, there is a knock at the door, its Marge!
You answer the door still infused with anxiety from the earlier collision. With
sweaty palms you push down on the door handle to be greeted by her friendly
face.
She is not angry, if anything she is humbled by your kindness and thanks you
for your honesty.
She offers you to settle without going through your insurance company which
ultimately saves you a lot of money. You are more than pleased with this offer
and you both go happily about your day.
10. You are unsure of what to do, you consider moving your car quickly onto
the next street over… but you should do something about it!
You decide you will knock your neighbours door once! If she does not
answer you can still rest at night but you do not push the issue.
You step towards Margarie’s door and slowly and quietly tap the door
knocker. There is no answer, HORRAY! You are off the hook!
You quickly get back into your car and speed off around the corner to hide
any evidence.
11. Later that day you see Marge coming out of her house, she is very upset and tells
you how she cannot afford to repair the damage to her car.
You listen and act none the wiser. It may seem cold hearted but your conscience
is clear… you did try to confess after all
POOR MARGE!
