Welcome to Lewisburg,
As Director of Economic Development for the City of Lewisburg, I would like to welcome you and your
company or client to Lewisburg, TN.
Lewisburg has a 100-year reputation as a manufacturing hub with 56 manufacturing operations in
Lewisburg and Marshall County. In the past five (5) years, we have worked with nineteen (19) existing
industry expansions and eleven (11) relocations or start-ups totaling over $144M in capital investments. The
most recent projects are the first North American facility for Meiwa Industry Co. Ltd. of Japan that chose to
locate in one of our two industrial parks in 2013, Multimatic of Canada/Indiana that leased an existing
building in the Lewisburg Industrial Park in 2015 and Minth Group LTD of China that purchased an existing
building in the Lewisburg Industrial Park in 2017.
Located on I-65, Lewisburg provides one-hour proximity to Nashville, TN and Huntsville, AL. Lewisburg
sits in a nine (9) county workforce area of 400,000 out of a total population of 1,000,000 providing a multi-
skilled employment region with an average commute time of 26 minutes.

Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT)
This incentive is available to both new and expanding industries and begins with a request for a PILOT
Application Form from City of Lewisburg Director of Economic Development Greg Lowe.
A PILOT includes:
Real (Land & Building) and Personal (Machinery & Equipment) Property Tax Abatement for BOTH City and
County Property Taxes – up to 10 years for Personal and up to 20 years for Real Property
A PILOT is developed by the Industrial Development Board and offered to a Prospect/Company based on
Total Number of New Net Full-Time Jobs created by Prospect/Company (Minimum of 20 in 5 Years)
Total Amount of Capital Investment of Project (Minimum $500,000 in Real Property or $150,000 in Personal
Property)
Average Wage Rates of Total New Net Full-Time Jobs created by Prospect/Company
Overall Economic and Industry Impact to Community of Project
Annual Survey of Jobs Created will need to be completed by Company to insure compliance with PILOT
If at any time a Company is not compliant, the IDB can choose to terminate the PILOT – no clawbacks
Other Documentation/Procedures include:
Project, PILOT and Tax agreements to be drafted by attorneys (Company Attorney & City/IDB Attorney), signed
and recorded by both parties, as well as a Bill of Sale on any machinery/equipment for which a PILOT is
developed.
