2. Abstract
The current research uses resource-based view as a lens for identifying and analyzing
entrepreneurial strategies. Resource-based view focuses on gaining competitive advantage
through specific resources. Peteraf competitive advantage model is the basis for current research,
in this model, four conditions are considered for creating competitive advantage.
Qualitative methods were used to conduct research and qualitative research questionnaire were
formed based on Peteraf model. Finally a total of 26 strategies have been identified and analyzed
through interviews with entrepreneurs in selected food industries. These strategies are classified
into four categories: entrepreneurial rent creating strategies through gaining and creating
resources, innovation creating strategies, preserving entrepreneurial strategies (preventing
imitation) and Strategies for obtaining resources at the lowest possible price.
Proposing a new definition for entrepreneurial strategies, identifying weakening factors of
entrepreneurial strategies, analyzing difference between entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial
strategies are other results of this study.
