Dropfolders
1. Classworks Folders
DROP folder - students copy files to drop folder only…… NOT save as. They have permission to
copy/move files to a drop folder, but do not have permission to access files. This is on purpose, so
that student A can submit work and then student B cannot open the work of student A and copy the
answers.
If a student tries to save direct to a drop folder they will get an “Access denied” message, so have to
save to their own folder.
READ folder - students have permission to open and look at all files, but cannot change anything.
They can save the file to their own folder and then make changes.
How students save to a drop folder
1. Students MUST ALWAYS save a file first in their own folder - Homedrive or on their tablet.
2. Student opens the folder where they saved the file.
3. Highlight and click the file they want to put into Classworks. File and Folder Tasks will appear on
the left side.
2. 4. Click on Copy this file. A Copy Items popup window will appear.
5. Scroll through the list of folders and click Classworks (W:)
6. Select the Grade drop folder and Teacher folder that is required.
*If more subfolders have been added by the teacher then this step needs to be repeated.
7. Click the Copy button to confirm the copy. The file will now be in that folder as well as the
original location that the student had save it it.
