Gentry Viers served honorably in the United States Navy for six years. In that period, he was particularly useful as a naval foreman and trauma specialist. Whenever his unit was sent to foreign regions, Gentry’s experience in setting up camp was an asset. Also, he helped fellow soldiers combat the effects of trauma and return to good health.

1. Gentry Viers | Baseball Fan
Born and raised in Kansas City,
Missouri, Gentry Viers grew up to
love a few things in life; Kansas-
styled barbeque, the outdoors, and
baseball. Baseball, known as
America’s favorite pastime, is a
sport that Viers has followed all his
life. His favorite team is the Kansas
City Royals, one of the top
franchises in the professional
leagues.
In his teenage years, Gentry Viers’
parents used to take him to games
on the weekends, and the trips are
something he looked forward to.
In high school, Gentry Viers played for the school team. Since he had a solid
understanding of the game even before he was old enough to handle a bat, it came
as no surprise that Gentry was good enough to be the team’s designated hitter. On a
couple of occasions, he was known to hit the ball so hard, his bat cracked.
2. Gentry Viers - Master of
Trauma
A patriot with an unquestionable love for his country, Gentry Viers
enlisted in the military in 2001 and served in the Navy for six years. During
this time, he did two tours of duty in Iraqi at the height of Operation Iraqi
Freedom. His responsibilities while on duty were as naval foreman and
trauma expert. As the foreman, he was in charge of setting up camp shelters
whenever troops moved to new locations. A man who loved the outdoors
when he was young and often built forts in the forests, this work was second
nature to him. The work of a trauma specialist was more complex. “I am
thankful I never lost a patient in my two tours of duty. Seeing my brothers
come back stronger motivated me to work even harder at my craft,” he says.
3. Gentry Viers : Baseball’s
Health Benefits
Growing up close to Kansas City, Gentry
Viers’ love of baseball started at a young
age. His parents would often drive him
to the city during summer weekends to
catch a game, and from this experience
he started to play with friends.
All through high school and in the military,
Gentry has kept the fire for the game alive by
playing with friends, and has never missed an
opportunity to play.
If you are looking for a way to get healthy
through sports, why not consider baseball? As
Gentry Viers acknowledges, this is a game that
will not only help you get physically fit, it will
enable you to interact with friends.
4. Helping Children Deal with
Trauma
A Trauma specialist who served in the
United States Navy, Gentry Viers has
seen his fair share of trauma patients.
Tasked with helping fellow soldiers
recover and rejoin battle, Gentry
worked hard to ensure that each of his
patients was 100 percent recovered
before allowing them to rejoin combat.
