1. Mercat Central
Central Market of Valencia is a modernist-style building.It was finished in 1928.
It is located between Market Square and the City of BrugesSquare, just opposite the Llotja
(Chamber of Merchants). Above all, the market has a vane in the shape of a parrot that,
depending on how the wind blows, speaks or looks at the other vane, the Big bird or Pardalot
of Saint John’s church, thus creating a conversation between them.
Inside the market, there are a lot of shops of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and spices. And if you
look at the ceiling you can see a dome with windows, and over the windows a white wall with
oranges drawn. It is the cathedral of food.
