The dance studio was used to film scenes representing a dark hospital ward setting. Red and white flashing lights created a negative atmosphere. Red lights represented danger and an evil presence threatening the vulnerable innocent character, while white lights represented her loneliness with no one to save her. Shots of the character hiding behind curtains and sitting alone on a stool talking to herself showed she was scared, hiding from something, and abnormal. Most shots imitated actions of a psychopath, taking inspiration from the film "The Ward".

1. Filming in the dance studio
We decided to film in the dance studio as it would create a setting of my character sitting in
the hospital ward. As the dance studio has flashing lights and curtains that made the whole
room look dark as it was useful to represent a negative atmosphere.
The lights we used were red and white, the use of red is representing that there is an evil
atmosphere around me and I am in danger. Whereas the white light is representing the
vulnerable and innocence character is lonely and there is no one to save her. Also, making
the audience feel sympathy for the character as the use of the red light makes the audience
feel scared for her and creates an enigma as to what is chasing after.
We had a shot of my character hiding behind the curtain, this shows that she is scared and
hiding away from something or someone. This also, creates an enigma to ‘why is she
hiding?’ and ‘who is she hiding from?’. Furthermore, a shot of her sitting on a high stool
talking to herself and telling someone or something to go away, to leave her alone. I rocks
back and forth as if she is sitting on a rocking chair, this showed that my character is
abnormal .
Most of the shots we filmed were what a psychopath would do, I got most of the ideas from
watching a movie called ‘The Ward’.
