U drive is the student's personal storage area on the school system. Students should save all work to their U drive and not the desktop or X drive to prevent losing files. Students are advised not to share their password with others. The brief asks students to create a poster informing about their ICT skills using appropriate software like Word, Publisher, Photoshop, etc. The poster should include familiarity with programs, websites and social media used, email address, and whether they have internet access at home.
1. Year 10 ICT
• U drive- this is your own area on the school’s
system. Always save here. Never save on X
drive (my computer) or desktop- you will lose
it.
• You will definitely regret telling anyone your
password.
• X drive- accessible to everyone.
• Buy & label a memory stick.
2. The brief: Create a poster which will inform me
about your ICT skills.
Think about which is the best software to use.
Your poster should include-
• How familiar you are with Word, Publisher,
Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, Moviemaker, tumblr etc.
• Which social networking and other websites
you use regularly.
• Your email address.
• Whether you have internet access at home.
