It is my pleasure to write in support of the application of Fredrick Solomon.
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville. I have been an active researcher in the field of theoretical and
computational solid mechanics, ductile fracture mechanics, and multiscale modeling of complex
materials. I published many prestigious journal papers and conference proceedings. Thus, I think
I am in a position to evaluate Fredrick Solomon’s academic ability.
I was Fredrick’s master adviser. He did research under my supervision during his master time.
He coded his own finite element code successfully and did stress analysis on train rails. Through
the research, he became an expert of stress analysis and finite element simulation. The research
topic was difficult for a master student. However, he managed to figure it out by himself and
achieved the research quality of a Ph.D. student. He became an expert of 3D modeling,
ABAQUS stress analysis, finite element coding and structural design through his master research,
which will be truly useful and essential in any mechanical engineering company.
In my opinion, Fredrick’s academic ability is great enough to be accepted in your company. I
