2. CALL TO WORSHIP
I looked again. I heard a company of
Angels around the Throne, the
Animals, and the Elders—ten
thousand times ten thousand their
number, thousand after thousand
after thousand in full song:
3. CALL TO WORSHIP
The slain Lamb is worthy!
Take the power, the wealth, the
wisdom, the strength!
Take the honour, the glory, the
blessing!
4. CALL TO WORSHIP
Then I heard every creature in
Heaven and earth, in underworld
and sea, join in, all voices in all
places, singing:
5. CALL TO WORSHIP
To the One on the Throne! To the
Lamb!
The blessing, the honour, the glory,
the strength,
For age after age after age.
22. BY FAITH
By faith Abraham, when God tested
him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He
who had embraced the promises was
about to sacrifice his one and only
son, even though God had said to
him, “It is through Isaac that your
offspring will be reckoned.”
23. BY FAITH
Abraham reasoned that God could
even raise the dead, and so in a
manner of speaking he did receive
Isaac back from death.
Hebrews 11:17-19
24. TRUST
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own
understanding
Proverbs 3:5
25. TIM KELLER
Now I know that you love
me, because you did not
withhold your only son from
me.”
26. TIM KELLER
But how much more can we look
at his sacrifice on the cross and
say to God, “Now we know that
you love us. For you did not
withhold your son, your only son,
whom you love, from us.
28. Faith makes us sure of what we hope for
and gives us proof of what we cannot see.
It was their faith that made our ancestors
pleasing to God.
29. Abraham had faith and obeyed God.
He was told to go to the land that God had
said would be his, and he left for a country
he had never seen.
30. Because Abraham had faith, he lived as a
stranger in the promised land.
Abraham did this, because he was waiting
for the eternal city that God had planned
and built.
31. Even when Sarah was too old to have
children, she had faith that God would do
what he had promised, and she had a
son.
Her husband Abraham was almost dead,
but he became the ancestor of many
people.
32. Abraham had been promised that Isaac,
his only son, would continue his family.
But when Abraham was tested, he had
faith and was willing to sacrifice Isaac,
because he was sure that God could raise
people to life.
33. Such a large crowd of witnesses is all
around us!
So we must get rid of everything that
slows us down, especially the sin that just
won’t let go.
And we must be determined to run the
race that is ahead of us.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who
leads us and makes our faith complete.
34. Father fix our eyes on Jesus, our
substitute sacrifice
Jesus, complete our faith so that we can
lay our whole lives down before you as
our sacrifice
Amen
