It's that special time of year again. And for some people, it might be a rough time financially.
Fortunately for a few lucky students at North Middle School in Aurora, some Colorado pro athletes
decided to get together and make their holidays a little extra special. Denver Nuggets players Ty
Lawson and Kenneth Faried, along with Denver Broncos players T.J. Ward, Brandon Marshall,
Kayvon Webster and Terrance Knighton donated their time and money to "Christmas ReWard's"; a
shopping spree for underprivileged kids orchestrated at the local Target. The official Denver
Nuggets Twitter page tweeted this statement and a few pictures from the scene:
This event was started by T.J. Ward four years ago through his very own T.J. Ward Foundation. Each
student was given $100 by the players and Target to spend at the superstore. Journey advisories aid
Australians to make informed conclusions about abroad journey. They emphasize the selection of
dangers that you could experience at your destination, whether or not connected to protection,
protection, health, neighborhood laws, entry/exit specifications, or all-natural disasters. They also
emphasize regions that are clearly not secure for travel.
By comprehension these dangers, you are more most likely to get actions to keep away from,
minimise, or cope with issues abroad. This is correct for a vacation, business excursion, school pay a
visit to or university exchange. Many of the parents of the children were even more grateful than
their kids, as Ty Lawson explained:
"One of the father's said he just got laid off and this was gonna be a good Christmas. So for them to
get the cards and go shopping said it meant the world to him."
Santa Claus himself was even on hand to take pictures and converse with the little ones. Some
players, like Kenneth Faried, didn't grow up enjoying the stereotypical Christmas that we've become
so accustomed to. So this experience really hit home for the NBA star:
"Every kid wants that big Christmas, that Christmas tree, and Santa to bring them a massive amount
of gifts," shared Faried. "You know when I was younger, we didn't have that. I wasn't able to have
that huge Christmas and huge Christmas tree. Even though we didn't celebrate it, I still kind of
wanted to experience that. But to give back and help another kid experience what I didn't get to
experience is gonna be fun."
It's good to see pro athletes find time to give back to their community and the kids who look up to
them as role models. Check out some pictures from the event at nba.com and denverbroncos.com.
