"devilish" treasures

Karol Wilhelm Scheibler came from Łódź. He was called the "king of cotton",
who had no equal in the textile industry. He was an industrialist as well as a very
rich person.
When Scheibler died, his "devilish" treasures were hidden in secret. Which
were supposed to be located in Park Źródliska, which was close to Scheibler's
factories in Księży Młyn. One night, a few daredevils dared to start digging in
the park thinking they would find the "devil's" treasure. When they started
digging, a storm broke out, a strong wind blew and it became very dark. In the
lightning, an unknown man with a limp on one leg appeared on a path nearby.
Behind him were two large, menacing-looking black dogs.

3. The amateurs decided to run away in terror, forgetting even their shovels. That
evening they gave up looking for the treasure. Unfortunately, the next day they
were tempted to return to the digging site and try to find something again.
When they arrived at the site, there was no trace of the previous day's digging,
nor were the shovels they had hurriedly left behind. Frightened out of their
wits, they decided to abandon their "work".
Despite the fact that Karol Scheibler took great care of his workers, building
them houses, schools or hospitals, he did not meet with much gratitude from
their side. It was widely believed that this German was fraternizing with the
devil in the workers' houses. There is a wise adage that says : "Money can buy a
good dog, but it cannot buy the wagging of its tail".
