Ok, after a bit more research, it appears I've found the key....I reset the about:config option
browser.chrome.image_icons.max_size to 0, from the default of 1024. Tabbed browsing is behaving

Firefox has been working fine until yesterday. My home page is "my.msn.com" and this is set in
