2. MARKET ANALYSIS:
Key benchmark indices edged higher in choppy trade after latest data showed inflation based on the
wholesale price index (WPI) eased in November 2012, with core inflation reaching 2 -1/2-year low.
The BSE Sensex was up 92.96 points or 0.48% to 19,322.22.
The S&P CNX Nifty was up 32.35 points or 0.56% to 5,883.85, as per provisional figures.
From the 30-share Sensex pack, 17 stocks rose while rest of them fell.
Bank stocks bounced back after latest data showed WPI inflation eased in November 2012. ICICI Bank
gained 1.46% to Rs 1,138. Among other PSU bank stocks, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Bank
of Baroda and Punjab National Bank gained by between 1.86% to 4.89%.State Bank of India (SBI)
rose 2.8%.India's second largest private sector bank by net profit HDFC Bank fell 0.4% to Rs 688.60.
India's second largest software services exporter by revenues Infosys shed 0.27%.Shriram Transport
Finance rose 3.01% to Rs 730. The stock hit 52-week high of Rs 742.70 in intraday trade today, 14
December 2012.
