The Berkeley residential curbside EV charging pilot program, launched in December 2014 and extended through December 2020, aims to provide charging solutions for residents without off-street parking. The pilot received 61 applications, with 9 on-site and 7 curbside installations completed, although several challenges such as costs and placement issues were noted. The program aligns with Berkeley's electric mobility roadmap to ensure equitable access to electric mobility and reduce carbon emissions.
