Mission Prep Class: Lesson 1: The Missionary Purpose
Megenagna branch goals 2012
1. MEGENAGNA BRANCH GOALS 2012
The mission of the Church is to “Invite all to come unto Christ.” We have a vision where the
branch members come unto Christ or have increased spirituality resulting in a strengthened
personal relationship (with a firm foundation) in Christ.
Helaman 5:12: “And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our
Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when
the devil, shall send forth his mighty winds, yea his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all
his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to
drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye
are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot
fall.”
Our goal is to increase spirituality through:
Scripture Study
Personal and Family Prayer
Worship
Service
Personal Scripture Study
Encourage branch members to read/study the scriptures at least 15 minutes a day. Read the
Book of Mormon completely by the Ethiopian New Year on September 11, 2012.
Personal and Family Prayer
Encourage branch members to pray regularly as individuals and families, to meditate, and
develop a personal relationship with our Father in Heaven.
Worship
Encourage personal worship through activities such as church attendance, missionary work,
family home evening and sharing our testimonies.
Service
Encourage members to serve in their callings, clean the church weekly, and find one family to
provide service for. Perform Home Teaching and Visiting visits quarterly.
