Scores obtained in JEE (Main) 2013 will help students get admissions in the National
Institutes of Technology (NIT) and the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT)
and some other deemed universities.
This score is also valid for getting admissions in state run/aided colleges. All these
colleges have 15% quota seats for the JEE (Main) score holders. From next year
admissions to all engineering colleges across the country will take place on the basis of
JEE Main results.
Cut-off marks for eligibility to JEE Advanced are 113 out of 360, or around 31%. JEE
Advanced will take place on June 2, 2013.
It is the first time the JEE is being conducted in two parts JEE(Main) and JEE(Advance).
According to the CBSE, around 12.60 lakh candidates registered for the JEE (Main)
which was conducted in 113 cities in offline mode. The same was conducted in online
mode at 278 centres in 32 cities.
If we look at the results in Maharashtra region, especially in Pune area, the picture is
bleak. The data shows less than 2% of students who appeared for the exam are eligible
for the JEE Advanced. Around 24000 students appeared from Pune division and
approximately 425 students are selected for JEE Advanced.
Around 20% of students who appeared for JEE Main were qualified for JEE Advanced
