2. Mission Statement
To better connect and service the educational supply business on a
global basis providing a central communication node for this highly
diverse and fragmented industry sector and ultimately to improve
distribution and use of appropriate teaching materials on a global
basis.
Through the Edexus Foundation to help bring access to improved
health and education facilities to disadvantaged children by
supporting charities effectively delivering aid to those in need.
3. Key Service Objectives
"Connectivity" is key to all of our futures and Edexus will provide this
to the education trade, which currently is under-serviced by print
media and trade exhibitions - with nearly everything aimed at end-
users (teachers and educational facilities).
For Producers / Suppliers – an instant way to find new customers and
new markets for your products without the need for expensive and
time consuming market visits.
For Producers / Suppliers - no need to wait for the next appropriate
trade fair to launch new products.
For Producers / Suppliers - you can accurately and economically
target customers in the education sector with your entire range or with
specific items suitable for marketing to schools.
4. Key Service Objectives Continued
For Distributors / Buyers - a place to find new and alternative
suppliers on a daily basis when the need arises.
For Distributors / Buyers - you can immediately make contact with
suppliers of products targeted at your market without the need to sort
through masses of irrelevant data on generic sourcing websites or
from exhibitions mainly targeted at other industries or markets.
For Service Providers - a great place to find clients in this massive
worldwide but ill-defined market sector and where you can promote
services from banking to product testing to exhibitions directly to a
clearly defined interest group.
5. How Edexus works
Essentially EDEXUS acts as a "permanent trade fair" and an
"introduction service" for producers and distributors and education
materials and for other individuals and organisations who support the
industry - sales agents, trading companies, testing organisations,
freight forwarders catalogue printers etc.
Producers / Suppliers – 70 categories
Can make contact with companies – categorised into over 20 types -
who distribute their type of products in particular countries.
Distributors / Buyers – 29 categories
Can find suppliers of over 60 specified categories of products for
which they are searching.
NOTE - many companies will be both Producers and Distributors in
which case they should sign up in both categories
Service Providers – 30 categories
Can offer their services to either Producer / Suppliers and / or
Distributor / Buyers.
6. The Foundation
Edexus want to give back to the world, so 25% of all revenue from paid services will
be donated, through The Edexus Foundation, to selected charities which can
effectively deliver health and education aid to disadvantaged children – currently
working with charities in Thailand, Nepal and Ethiopia which are detailed on the
Edexus website.
7. Recent updates
After lots of discussions with companies who joined Edexus in our first
months of activity we made changes to better meet market needs and
improve the service we are offering and during the last four months we
have completed major upgrades to the Edexus website to improve its
effectiveness and value to our members. Key aspects of the upgrade
were:
1. Improved design / layout for better clarity and functionality.
2. A new powerful “Advanced Search” facility
3. Now with FREE website links for members
4. Simplified pricing for paid services
8. Recent Growth
Our efforts are being rewarded and Edexus membership is growing
steadily with new members joining us on a daily basis from countries
all around the world and recently we have been pleased to welcome
two education trade organisations – India Didactics Association [with
whom you have relationship] and Iberdidac, the Spanish education
trade association.
