1) The document describes a lesson on teaching global citizenship through project-based learning on the Sustainable Development Goals.
2) Students were grouped based on "Smurf" characters and assigned development goals, then chose one goal to research and create a project around.
3) Projects involved research, designing materials, fundraising, and creating boards to share their work with the public at a farmers market event.
6. ChoosingaGoal
Students were grouped according
to the Smurf they got as a result
on the Small Smurfs Big Goals
quiz.
Each Smurf was associated with a
set of goals.
Students learned more about
those goals using the 1-page
comics form the World's Largest
Lesson Website and then chose the
goal they wanted to work on.
8. ProjectTime!
This is where we spent the most time in
class. Students worked together through
many stages of planning and executing their
ideas, such as:
Researching their goal and related
organizations.
Designing flyers for fundraisers/raise
awareness.
Advertising on Spotlight TV.
Collecting/sorting materials.
Crafternoon!
Making project boards to share with the
public.
