This SlideShare presentation will provide guidance in finding DVDs and videos in the Harris Learning Library online search. The Learning Library serves Nipissing University, Canadore College, local communities, and the general public. It will explain the steps to locating videos using the new Omni search tool with the example showing the Nipissing version but will work in the same way on Canadore's Library Search option.

in the Library?

2. To find DVDs and Videos, go to Your Library
Select Search Resources or Library Search

3. For best results, sign in using your login.

4. Conduct the search for your topic.

title to get to
the Item
Information
Records

6. DVD Item Information Record
Location
provides
information
about where
the item can
be found
The Call
Number is
the item’s
“address”
on the
shelves.
Most DVDs
are located
on the 2nd
floor of the
Library.

7. This record indicates that the DVD has been
checked out and is due back after 14 days

8. Some DVDs are
on Reserve at the
Service Desk.
Please take the Call
Number to the Service
Desk and a staff member
will help you retrieve the

9. DVDs on Reserve
 DVDs on Reserve at the Service Desk can be
checked out for 3 hours and viewed in the Library
 DVDs on short-loan can be checked out and taken
out of the Library for 48 hours.
