This SlideShare presentation provides guidance for finding Course Reserves at the Learning Library serving Nipissing University and Canadore College.
It will explain how to find items that professors may have on reserve for student use at the library.
This example uses the Nipissing OMNI option but it will work the same way in the Canadore version.
2. Course Reserves:
• Required readings or supplemental materials for courses
• May be books, articles, maps, DVDs or other materials
• Have shorter loan periods to allow more students to access
them
3. Two Types of Course Reserves
Available at the Service Desk
3-Hour Reserve:
• For in-library use only
Short Loans:
• Loaned for 2 days
Course Reserves cannot be renewed.
4. Overdue Fines for Course Reserves
Please ensure that you return course reserves on time to
avoid overdue charges.
3-Hour Reserve
$1.00 per hour
2-day Short Loan
$2.00 per day
5. To find Course Reserves, go to Your Library
Select Search Resources or Library Search

6. To find a course reserve, select the magnifying glass…
Click on Catalogue
and choose Course
Reserves from the
drop-down
7. Or begin a search and select Course Reserves
from the drop-down menu.
9. Select the title you wish to borrow for more
details about the item.
10. This is a course reserve held at the Service Desk.
Write down the call number and take it to the Circulation
Desk so the staff can retrieve the item for you.
