3. Ex-Citi India Boss Pramit Jhaveri tipped to board Tata
Trusts
Pramit Jhaveri, the former Citi India boss, is being
considered as a trustee in one of the main Tata Trusts,
two people close to the development said.
The proposal to enlist the former banker, who was Citi’s longest
serving India CEO from 2010 to 2019, is significant. The timing of the
possible appointment comes as Tata Trusts are trying to secure their
legacy even as they face a legal wrangle with the income tax
department besides the battle over Cyrus Mistry’s ouster in 2016. The
latter’s family is the largest individual shareholder in Tata Sons, the
holding company of the $100 billion Tata Group.
4. PM in Mann Ki Baat says violence never resolves any issue
Citing the surrender of 644 militants recently in Assam and 80 in Tripura last year,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to those “seeking solutions to
problems through violence and weapons” to return to the mainstream and resolve
issues peacefully.
Those who had picked up weapons thinking that violence could solve problems
now firmly believe that the only way to solve any dispute is peace and
togetherness, he said. The people will be thrilled to know that insurgency in the
northeast has reduced considerably and the biggest reason for that is that every
issue of the region is honestly and peacefully solved through dialogue, the PM said
in his Mann Ki Baat address on Sunday.

Air India is expected to earn Rs 1,500 crore from the sale of a land parcel in the Nerul area of
Navi Mumbai. However, a portion is currently occupied by some retired employees. With the
process of privatisation underway, the airline has put the property on sale.

developed for commercial activities while rest has to be residential.
With the airport coming and lot of development in the region, we expect the land to fetch a
good value,” said an Air India official. However, the airline will first have to deal with about
500 occupants of a residential tower on the property.
