Location
Climate
Quang Ninh’s climate is
typical climate of North Viet
Nam with four seasons:
Spring, Summer, Autumn
and Winter. In summer, it is
very hot and rainy but the
on contrary it is cold and dry
in winter.
Quang Ninh is located in the Northeast of
Viet Nam, between the east longitude 106’
26’ – 108’ 31’3” and north latitude 20’ 40’ –
21’40’. Its width from east to west is 195
km, from north to south is 120 km. To the
north, it borders with Guangxi (China) and
Lang Son. Quang Ninh province also
borders Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces
to the west, Hai Phong to the south.
Distance from Ha Noi to Quang Ninh is
about 170km, with 3 or 4 hours by car.

world and nearly 500 historical monuments associated with many
traditional festivals as Yen Tu Pagoda, Cua Ong Temple, Bach Dang

most convenient route to go there. If you depart for Quang Ninh from Hanoi by air, the nearest
airport is Noi Bai Airport. Ha long city is about 150km from the airport. By road, you can get a taxi
or a car to go to Quang Ninh. A high way which links Ha Noi to the Mong Cai international Border
Gate is over a distance of 288km. It’s better for you to go by car because it helps you save money.
And if you are from other places, there are many means of transportation for you to choose. You
can travel by train, motorbike, boat and so on. In particular, it can be easy for you to get a coach. For
example, from My Dinh Station in Ha Noi, there are many coaches to Quang Ninh with reasonable
price. You can choose Duc Phuc, Ka Long, Kumho, Phuc Xuyen coaches,etc. They all are quite good at
quality.
Travelling around Quang Ninh, you can use many different kinds of
vehicles. If you just travel within 30km radius, you should choose a taxi or
a bus. It costs about 5 thousands vnd for a turn. If you want to sightseeing
and relax, you should travel by pedicab. It’s quite cheap. If you want to
travel to places at further distance, the best choice is a coach because of
reasonable price and good quality. Depending on where you want to go,
let’s decide to choose the most convenient vehicle to make you
comfortable.

most of tourists is Ngan.
Ngan in Vietnamese
means boring but I must
sure that you will never
feel boring with the
dishes cooking with
Ngan. This is a kind of
Oyster which is available
in most regions of
Halong. However, you
can taste the most
delicious one at Bach
Dang River outlet. There
are many dishes which
can be cooked from Ngan
such as steamed, stir-
fried, grilled or soup.
Male tourists are
impressed by the wine
made with Ngan. It is a
special taste that has a
little bit salty and acrid
and aromatic in taste is

shrimp, but prawn and lobster are more precious
ones. Prawns are cooked by 2 ways: steamed and
soaked with flour before frying. Steamed prawns
are more delicious because they can keep the

considered the best specialty in Quang Ninh
because of its high nutritious value.

13. Yen Tu historical area consisting of
shrines, temples and pagodas should be
the first destination in your journey
because Yen Tu is considered the ancestral
land of Vietnamese Buddhism. Making a
pilgrimage to Yen Tu means you find the
way to origin and timeless spiritual values
of our country preserved through
generations.
The next destination you may visit is
Tuan Chau Island - one of the most
attracting tourism areas in the North of Viet
Nam. Of 1.969 islands in Ha Long Bay, it
is also the most beautiful one. Tuan Chau
Island is famous for the largest artificial
beach in Viet Nam. Visitors can freely play
on the long white-sand beach with many

14. Carnival
Ha Long
The festival is held yearly on April, 30 and May, 1st at
Bai Chay tourist area. The event includes more than
4000 people with 400 models, actors and 4000
amateurs perform in front of audiences. Moreover, this
is also an occasion for audiences to enjoy
performances of art troupes from the Republic of
Korea, China, Laos and the Philippines. Therefore, the
tourist can learn more about the distinctive cultural
identities of Quang Ninh in particular, Viet Nam and
other countries in general
