The document describes the speaker's typical New Year's Eve celebrations and activities. They look forward to the new year and count down the minutes. In the evening, they collect fireworks and get ready. At midnight, they shout "Hurray!" and drink champagne at a decorated table before going outside to light fireworks. They enjoy the fireworks for a half hour before returning home, where the adults dance and the children play games. They may go out again later to use remaining fireworks before guests leave and everyone goes to bed in the early morning, having had a really good time celebrating the new year.
