7. In 2014, he received the Lloyd’s List
Shipping Award for his leadership and
contribution to the POSEIDON-MED
project/LNG bunkering. In 2014, Dr.
Theodore has introduced to the EU
Committee the first Cross European Border
project and the first large-scale LNG
Bunkering project ‘’POSEIDON MED’’. Six
months later the project has been approved
and granted by EU.
The project is the LNG bunkering initiative
from fellow EU countries in the Eastern
Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea.
POSEIDON MED’s ultimate objective is to prepare in detail a global solution of
infrastructure development in the Mediterranean area so that LNG can be embraced
as the marine fuel of the future making thus shipping more efficient and sustainable.
POSEIDON MED aims to introduce LNG as the main fuel for the shipping industry
and develop a sufficient infrastructure network of bunkering value chain. It focuses
in the eastern Mediterranean region with five Member States (Cyprus, Greece, Italy,
