2. • There’s no question that
the Texas Longhorns are
gearing to go this football
season, regardless of how
uncertain their season will
play out for 2015.
3. • If you’ve been reading the
local papers and keeping up
with the team’s record, you’ll
notice the increase in
energy from the entirety of
the team lately, and that
may be due to the
abundant group of
freshmen who have some of
the best attitudes the
football team has seen in a
long time, known to the
public as “Charlie Strong-
type players,” (Burnt
Orange Nation).
4. • That being said, many fans and
football professionals alike have
been asking various questions
about the team, starting with the
quarterback.
5. • According to an article
published by Burnt Orange
Nation:
• “All indications point to Tyrone
Swoopes having the first
opportunity to take a strong
hold of this position in the first
game of the season. And if he
can stay mentally strong, then I
see him as the safe bet to end
the season as the starting
quarterback entering a bowl
game in which he has a chance
to redeem himself,” (The
Weekend Review: Ten questions
for Texas Longhorns football).
7. • As one of the
quickest on his feet,
Locksley has been
entering practice
since day one with
the willingness to
improve consistently
despite the aches
and struggles that a
freshman endures
during his first
season of college
football.
8. • Another hot player to
watch this season will
be Jonathan Gray,
who is predicted to
rush for over 1,000
yards in 2015. As a
former five-star Aledo,
Gray is coming off an
offseason strong, with
very minor injuries that
most players develop
during preseason.
9. • Burnt Orange Nation
predicts, “I see Gray
showing a bit more burst
and strength when he
runs this season as
Texas’ feature back. Of
course, for Gray to
eclipse 1,000 yards, he
will need to remain
healthy for most, if not
all, of the season,” (The
Weekend Review: Ten
questions for Texas
Longhorns football).
10. • Last, new freshman
defenseman Malik
Jefferson is in the
running to win
Freshman of the Year
and has shown great
promise as one of the
best players on Texas’
defense that the
team has ever seen.
11. • He may be a freshman, but
Jefferson has been noted
as one of the top players to
watch on the team and will
even start against Notre
Dame for the first game of
the season.
