The structure or products we call the Reuters Family of Products was developed to answer 2 important questions. CLICK What does Reuters have to offer? Who do the Reuters products cater too? This structure makes it easier for our customers and staff to understand our offerings. The Product Families replaced a previous scheme of High, Medium and Low tiers for different types of products.
This model gives a great view on how Reuters products are laid out. They’re grouped into Families that align our products with customer needs. We view the products families as spanning across job roles. CLICK So it is possible for one product to align with one job role. CLICK Or one job role may have more than one product that is appropriate. In this view you can see that Reuters Knowledge is an appropriate product for Investment Management users. While Reuters Xtra spans types from Commodity & Energy markets all the way through Investment Management. By using this product structure we give customers better service because we are focused on their needs and the ALL the products that will meet those needs.
Now lets focus in a bit further on Reuters Knowledge. Reuters Knowledge is a Desktop product in the Research and Asset Management Division. It spans the Investment Banking, Corporates & Investment Management client types. Lets just check and see if everyone is on the same page. CREATE A POLL - POLL # 1 Reuters developed the Family of Products to replace this previously used scheme. Market segment structure Three Tiered High, Medium, Low (correct) Potential revenue structure Reuters Knowledge is primarily targeted to these types of users? These are the client that are using Reuters Knowledge CLICK - Investment Bankers, Research Analysts, CLICK - Institutional and retail investment managers CLICK - Hedge funds, & Corporate clients The Product is divided into 3 products to meet all these clients needs. These products are Reuters Knowledge for Investment Management, Reuters Knowledge for Investment Banking and Reuters Knowledge for Corporates. Each member in the RK family is designed to meeting the needs for the types of users.

Benefits Reuters Knowledge provides content sets like - fundamentals, estimates, broker research, news and other data, giving customers everything they need in one place. It Offers a browser-based navigation, so if you can shop on the internet, you should be able to navigate around Reuters Knowledge Publishing tools for notes, research and models - the tools are unrivaled in managing the content Clear and concise Top Down views from Markets and Regions all the way down to individual companies The Excel Add In allows users to bring data from Knowledge into their own models Reuters Knowledge is accessible via Blackberry devices. Which means you can be connected anywhere you go.

A great way to understand what the screener does is to think of a gold miner kneeling in a stream. Sifting through the water, rocks and mud to find Gold. That is what the screener does. This tool uses over 6000 data points to sift through the thousands of companies out there to find the ones that suit the clients needs the best. Now see if you can give me some suggestions of what you would use to Screen for the companies to add to your own portfolio. Use the chat tool to give me your suggestions. Demonstrate the Screener tool using the criteria suggested by participants. It’s a good idea to validate any suggestions but suggest something like… Why don’t we use these just to show everyone how the screener works P/E ratio between 10 and 25 Consensus value 2.5 Country (your country/region)
Now I’ll show you some of the tools in Reuters Knowledge and how they are used. (Demonstrate searching for research using the company and parameters suggested by participants. Comprehensive Search is the best tool to use. Now lets look at another very popular and powerful tool. The Screener.
