According to Bruce E. Becker, MD, director at the National Aquatics & Sports Medicine
Institute, the oldest method of therapy the ancestors used really did work. He says it
makes patients feel better, loosens joints, decreases pain, and has a prolonged effect
even after soaking in water.
The Arthritis Foundation explains soaking in water lessens gravity’s force that usually
compresses joints. It provides a 360-degree support for aching limbs, lessens
inflammation and swelling, and increases circulation.
