When the County of Linn
and City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa
suffered catastrophic damages
as a result of flood waters, they called
Jarvis Construction Emergency Services.
Jarvis assisted the State, County and City
in dewatering, drying down and
providing selective demolition for
Over 29 Government buildings.
Even before the waters receded,
Jarvis personnel along with massive
amount of equipment and materials were
ready and waiting on the outskirts
of the flooded City.

for over 29 City and County Jarvis assisted the City and County
buildings in their recovery efforts for many months

Manufacturer of Sealy Posturepedic Mattresses
A fire loss occurred in their plant that
caused smoke to travel throughout the
facility.
Jarvis responded to the scene and
immediately set up to help contain,
eliminate and clean the effected
operation.
The Jarvis team worked day and night to
clean inventory as well as the plant to
allow operations to resume.
The project was completed in less than
4 weeks involving the cleaning of

In April of 2009, Mayco International, a
automotive parts manufacturer
sustained substantial damages as a
result of smoke.
A large press caught fire and when an
overhead door at the opposite end of
the plant was opened, it pulled smoke
throughout the 600,000 sq, ft. facility.
This covered all the new plastic
automotive door panels intended for a
major automotive manufacturer.
Jarvis was called and immediately
set up shifts of personnel around the
clock cleaning the automotive plastic
parts to allow our customer to meet the
needs of their major customers. Jarvis
eliminated the business interruption
loss (approximately $10,000/min.-

CORPORATION
Fire in a plastic automobile parts
corporation.
Jarvis provided emergency services
from our structure, contents and
electronics and painting division.
Jarvis provided the warehouse with
cleaning and semi-truck transportation
for over 300,000 automotive parts to
prevent interruption of our customers
business and reduced or eliminated
any loss of production, business
interruption or lost economic
opportunity.
Jarvis also painted the entire interior of
the plant, while operations continued.

26. IKEA - FIRE SUPPRESSION
MALFUNCTION
Just two weeks before Christmas
2009, IKEA of Canton suffered
significant water damage within
the 600,000 SF facility on 2 floors
of which 450,000 SF was wet.
IKEA called Jarvis for
immediate help. Jarvis sent
hundreds of personnel, equipment
and materials and began the
disaster clean-up.
It was critical that Jarvis
assist IKEA in the structural
drying and water remediation as
quickly as possible in order for
IKEA to reopen this facility and
mitigate the massive business
interruption loss. JARVIS WAS ABLE TO GET MOST OF
IKEA RE-OPENED WITHIN 48 HRS

27. ROSIE O’GRADY’S IRISH PUB
This famous Irish Pub suffered
a minimal fire, yet extensive smoke
damage through out the entire facility.
The owner called Jarvis to help get
their business back in operation
as fast as possible.
As one of the areas favorite sports bar
it housed over 37 large screen TV’s
and a vast amount of electronics.
Jarvis met immediately with all parties
including the insurance adjusting firm
to agree on a scope of loss
and approval to begin restoration.
The owner gave Jarvis 10 days
to restore and repair his establishment
for a re-opening celebration. Jarvis was

Jarvis was called to assist Holly
High School when they suffered a
severe water damage loss.
A pipe broke on the second floor
while the school was closed for a
holiday inundating 17 classrooms
and the laboratory room.
Jarvis was given one week to put
the entire school back to a pre-loss
condition.
This goal was accomplished by
Jarvis. Students were able to return
to school within one week.
