John Dryden's satirical poem 'Absalom and Achitophel' has wide range of characters from Biblical story of King David of Israel. The poem is not supposed to be read as retelling of King David and Absalom's story. It is a political allegory. All the biblical characters allegorically represents political & religious figures of Dryden's time. This presentation explores the allegorical representations of all these characters.
