Squealer continued giving speeches to convince the animals to believe in Napoleon, but Boxer also played an important role in inspiring them during the hard winter months. Napoleon was concerned with Mr. Whymer's opinion because he wanted to appear respectable to humans. The hen's rebellion was important because it showed Napoleon was willing to kill animals who disagreed with him. When Squealer cast an ugly look at Boxer while accusing Snowball, it foreshadowed that Boxer may meet an unpleasant fate for questioning Napoleon. The killings served as a warning to the animals not to oppose Napoleon. The animals did not rebel over the banning of "Beasts of England" because they were afraid to challenge Napoleon.
