2. If you have ever visited Chatsworth House near Bakewell, you will have
been in one of the most iconic stately homes in England.
When the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire inherited it in 1950 it was a
real possibility that they could lose the house because of crippling tax
bills. Luckily for the nation they turned things around and established a
large and valuable art collection.
You may well ask what Chatsworth radiators have to do with this stately
home. In fact nothing really; it is just a name with a nice ring to it. It has
to be said that the company does produce a variety of styles and a
radiator that would complement a stately home is available too.
4. These are the Edwardian examples, who in their day, were ornate and
became quite stylised. Because they have come back into fashion,
especially for period homes you can now buy modern versions of these.
The modern styles are more efficient than the ones that were produced in
Victorian and Edwardian times. Then the joints were not their strongest
point and they often started leaking.
The modern column radiators are low in maintenance and give out good
heat just like the cast iron ones that our great-grandparents had.
5. The only difference was that to get these heaters going someone down in
the cellar had hard work to do as boilers tended to be enormous and had to
be fed with coal mainly. My great-grandmother was assigned this task and it
was horrible down there in the dank and dark cellar.
These days of course, we have compact boilers that do the same thing as
the Victorian monsters did. They are much cleaner because they run on
gas, electricity and sometimes oil. Coal has largely disappeared from our
households.
Chatsworth radiators are produced in many shapes and styles. They make
panel and ladder radiators too.
6. Ladder heaters have become enormously popular in modern households. They
have a dual purpose in that they heat towels and the room it is positioned in
too. They are not only installed in bathrooms, but look stylish in kitchens too.
In fact wherever towels need to be dried they are to be found.
Panel radiators are ideal for homes where space is limited. These are often
modern properties where rooms have shrunk to create more bedrooms and
utility areas. They hang snugly close to the walls so that more walking room is
created.
The company sells to construction companies and retailers. If you run a
heating firm you will be able to buy some pretty attractive radiators to sell to
your customers all over the country.
