 Stock Brokers, etc
Wealth management is an Investment Advisory
Discipline that incorporates financial planning, investment
portfolio management and a number of aggregated

02 Wealth Management
Wealth management has a greater emphasis on financial
advice and is concerned with gathering, maintaining,
preserving, enhancing and transferring wealth. It includes the
following types of products and services:

b) Core banking-type products, such as current accounts,
time deposits and liquidity management.

real estate, commodities, wine and art), conventional,
structured and alternative investments.
f) Advice in all shapes and forms: asset allocation, wealth
structuring, tax and trusts, various types of planning
(financial, inheritance, pensions, philanthropic), family-
dispute resolution etc.

What differentiates
Wealth Management
 The relationship that wealth managers have with
their clients, both in terms of breadth (where
providers emphasize terms such as ‘holistic’,
‘comprehensive’ and ‘all-inclusive’) and depth
(‘intimate’ and ‘individualized’).
 The products and services provided, with a
particular emphasis on estate planning and multi-
generational planning services, as well as tax
advisory expertise and alternative investments.
 The specific objectives of wealthy clients, such as
investment performance, wealth preservation or
wealth transfer.

ANUP BAGCHI
MD & CEO
ICICI Securities Ltd.
We are witnessing a very exciting phase in the financial
services sector and I believe that this phase is here to stay,
which will eventually change the way financial services
business is conducted in the Indian subcontinent.
India as an economy has embarked on a high growth
trajectory which results in higher GDP with higher
disposable income in the hands of individuals. This, coupled
with India's growing interaction with developed nations, has
exposed Indians to global financial service standards. These
and many more favorable factors have given rise to an
untiring demand for specialised financial services which
match the growing aspirations of young & emerging India
CWM® certification has emerged as a respected standard to
