 Keep your hands in clean water and let them
soak for 20 minutes every morning and evening
 This will bring moisture into the dry skin.
 Skin will become soft.

 After soaking, gently scrape off hard skin
with rough object, like a stone.
 Scraping removes dead hard skin.
Do not use sharp edged stones because

4. Oiling
 Apply oil on the hands immediately after scraping.
 This will keep the moisture within the skin for a
longer period.
 Use only neem oil / Mustard oil / Mabua oil.
Do not use cooking oil. It will attract ants / insects
which will cause wounds.

5. Dressing
If there is a wound dress the wound daily with any
available clean cloth.
 Old cloth at home can be used for this purpose.
 Wash it well and dry it in the sun light
before using it.
 Wrap the clean cloth around your hand
to keep dirt and flies out of the wound.

Prevent permanent bending of fingers (contracture)
When fingers are bent and not moved, joints will become stiff and fingers will
be fixed in bent position. This condition will result in further damage to hands.
Following exercise is advised
 Soaking of the hands before doing exercises will give better results.
 Make a fist (not tight) with the hand
 Put the fist on your thigh
 Force the fist open so that the fingers go straight.
 Count to ten while you hold your fingers out straight.
 Do it as often as you can and it will become a habit.
This exercise will keep the joints in good condition and prevents
further damage to hands.
