10. WHAT IS EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE (EPS)
EPS is approximately 98% air and 2% plastic
Base material is styrene monomer, a by-product of oil refining
Styrene also occurs naturally in many foods
Polystyrene is produced when the styrene monomer is polymerised
Due to its technical properties EPS can be used in a wide range of
applications
