Family: Asteraceae (Sunflower Family)
Native to: Southwestern U.S. to Texas, NW Mexico; frequent in wet places, coastal sage scrub,
creosote bush scrub from mountains to deserts. Forms thickets in stream bottoms, washes, canyons,
around springs, sometimes in saline areas.
