18 hrs to investigate the issues in the stimulus material (combination of 2 weeks
of lesson time and 4.5 hrs week of homework)
1. Read the material
2. Analyse the stimulus material (findings, research methodology,
interpret the results, trends, and conclusions)
3. Conduct primary and secondary research into the issues in a
specific sector
4. Compile a portfolio of research including all sources to be
referenced
A minimum of 2 different primary and 4 different secondary sources. No
more than 10 sources should be used.
5. 4 sides of A4 handwritten notes about the issues in the article and
your own research
PART B EXAM 21/1/19 - 23/1/19
2 hour examination in response to released article
Question 1: What are the key issues raised in the article and how has
qualitative and quantitative research been applied to explore them? (500
words, 30 mins, 15 marks)
Question 2: How far does the primary and secondary research you have
conducted support the conclusions drawn in the article? (500 words, 30
mins, 15 marks)
Question 3: With reference to the article and your own research, how has
the topic impacted on production and consumption in your specific media
sector? (500 words, 30 mins, 10 marks)
Question 4: What is the impact of the topic on media production in your
specific media sector? Refer to your primary and secondary research (500
words, 15 marks)
