What is Good? Essay
What is Good?
Good, a word used by all, but most not truly knowing what the true concept of good actually is.
What is good? Good, in my own understanding, entails an act or statement that is, not only morally
and perceptively correct in the eyes of others, but also in one's own eyes. There is a sense of
accomplishment; a sense of achievement felt when something good has been done. This feeling
usually does not only pertain to the individual, but also to those around him who might have
benefited in one way or another from his/her good deed or statement. It is important to note that
morals only apply to individual action and consequence. Ethics, however, apply to the actions of two
or more people. Ethics are meaningless unless...show more content...
Good can be thought of as situations in which one is found to have more pleasure in his/her life
due to the occurrence of that specific event. One can receive more pleasure in life by getting a
new job. A new job would give someone money and the opportunity to do more things that would
add pleasure to their life. An example of this in my life would be a job I just recently got in which
I am now making more money than I was at my old job. With this job, I now have more money to
do more things that will help to bring more pleasure in my life. I will never be able to do all things
that I would like to do and this is where Plato's idea of good being unattainable is demonstrated.
Something that is unachievable would seem to have different opinions based on different personal
beliefs. There are the ethical and moral stands on each issue and oneself and the people around them
determine this sense of good by acknowledging the ethical and moral standpoints and determining
what is more important to them regarding their decision. If something makes you and the people
around you happy, then what happened to cause this occurrence was good. For instance, scoring the
game–winning touchdown in a football game is good because your whole team will be happy about
that touchdown and about winning the game. Another instance of this would be talking to your best
friend after he/she just heard some bad news and cheering them up is good.

Definition Essay On Greed
What is greed? I think of the word greed and a sense of instability comes to my mind. Instability
reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of maturity around the world. I do not hear the word
greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. It has a strong,
disgusting, passive meaning to it. Greed represents a tacky, ignoble person who expects to receive
everything that has great value. Greed is known as the desire for money, popularity or fame or even
a higher authority of something. Being greedy is trying to succeed happiness and satisfaction for
your own doing. In one word, they become selfish. Many people who are greedy experience
transformation to becoming conceited, impatient and selfish, but many people...show more content...
Coaches are meant to lift your spirits, motivate you, influence you to be the best and encourage a
comeback after a mistake. My coach has not expressed a nice side and lately I have noticed a
heightened greediness in him. If you are a part of his life it is about his life, his ego and what he
wants. His ego caught up with him and he is self centered towards everyone around him. I am
coming back from an injury and my self esteem is very low and he I do not play a lot when I use
to be a starter. I use to have high hopes for a comeback, but recently my coach brought me down
by telling me that since I didn't play, the team won. He also made players from different teams
come to a tournament and spend there money to stay the night, but did not play them a single
minute. He does not think of other people, only himself. My teammates are constantly told by
him "you will never be as fast as them so stop trying." He is now the most greediest 40 year old I
know. However, he does not know he is greedy. I guess to me there is only one definition of
greed... the act of being selfish. In the long run, the greedy people because self conscious, angry,
frustrated and discontent with life because you are trying the hardest not to lose the wealth that was
accumulated over time. Over time the greed takes over and you lose what has real value to your life
which are friends and

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you)
what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your
thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that
challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing
what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you
love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets
is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important,
and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I
grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination.
They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the
$55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company,
moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed
to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Forgiveness by the World English Dictionary is the "act of forgiving; state of being forgiven,
disposition or willingness to forgive". But what does it really mean? That is my question. Is being
able to forgive and not forget the same thing? In my life, I have found that true forgiveness is a
quality that separates us from other species and it is what makes us human. In order to truly and
sincerely forgive, one must, aside from saying they have forgiven the person, let it go and not hold
a grudge against that person. Just, as Mahatma Gandhi once said: "The weak can never forgive.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." I believe that holds to be true.
Only a humble human being can attain the quality to completely...show more content...
I found that I forgave easier or not depending on severity of the circumstance and on the person
whom I was forgiving or not. I believe it is easier to forgive an enemy than a person you love
because a loved one are not supposed to hurt you in any way. I realized that those who I care more
cause the most pain.
When I was a child, every time I saw my mother crying and hurting from all the abuse induced by
her husband, the person who was supposed to protect her, I ask God, why? I never received an
answer. As the abuse continued and life went on, I was never able to forgive him for thesuffering
that he caused not only to my mother, but to me as well. I was carrying all the miseries from my
childhood and taking out on the people who love and care for me. There was no closure for the
pain and suffering. The only person that I saw comfort and security from was my father, a man
who never allowed me to pity myself or blame myself for other's actions. He was always there for
me until my eighteenth birthday when he decided that I was "old enough to be on my own;" it was
his own way to attempt making me independent. Everything became blurry at that point in my life.
There was nowhere to turn except the only person who had the opportunities in her eighty years to
master the meaning of true forgiveness: my grandmother, Consuelo, which her name literally means
to console. Living with her and listening to her life stories allowed me to comprehend

I'm from Arkansas, so naturally I speak differently than someone from New York or even the next
state over. My family sticks to a very interesting word choice that can be seen as southern almost
immediately. My mom, while she does say "y'all" occasionally, went to Alaska and The
Hamptons in New York for a while and lessened her southern twang by a mile. My dad, on the
other hand, says every know n country thing as he fully embraced the farm life. Ain't, reckon, y'all,
and all those type of words that aren't really words and don't really make sense when used in a
sentence, are the type my family uses when we're at home. Of course, some of the coarser talk stays
home when we go to church, but even there, everyone's southern belle accent shows....show more

They don't see it necessary to apply the correct words where I live because it doesn't matter very
much. The way they see it is as long as they know it in school, that's as good as it's going to get.
My little sister uses good grammar and involves herself in the opposite culture of the rest of my
family like I did, such as cheerleading, generally excellent grammar, and knows when and where
to use the southern style wording we grew up around. She doesn't say "ain't" or anything like that.
If anyone accuses her of being "country", she says, "I'm not country, I'm a southern belle." In
conclusion, a pattern I've discovered between culture and language variation in my family is that
the viewpoints of being a redneck and the viewpoint of being a southern belle cause a person to
use different dialects, even if their from the exact same household. Though it's very different from
a northerner's speech, I feel like my sister's way of speaking is closer to that than my brother's and
my dad's due to their lack of proper english that was passed down generation after generation of
wanting to be redneck and play in the

What Is Religion? Essay
What is religion? Each person's definition of religion is different. Each person's faith is different.
This is a question that has been asked for centuries, and regardless of the answer given there is no
right or wrong answer. Religion can be defined as a group of people who have shared beliefs who
feel their life has purpose or meaning. This feeling or belief that their life has meaning can come
from outside of themselves, as well as within. Taking this one step further, these shared beliefs put
into action in the form of worship, can be easily identified because they happen regularly. It can be
said the Primal religions were in fact not religions. Some may argue Confucianism is not a religion.
Others may say Taoism is not a...show more content...
They are teachings learned by previous generations then passed down, they are not always
actions. The fifth feature of religion is grace. Grace is defined by Smith as "the belief and
assurance that reality is on our side and can be counted on." Lastly there is mystery. For this there
is no exact definition, but it is all of what a religion cannot explain, it is all that the human mind
cannot grasp, it is the certain "higher power" that religion offers. Of these six features, there are
three that are present in most all religions, they are: authority, tradition, and mystery. Authority,
tradition, and mystery further explore and define religion when looking specifically at Primal
Religions, Confucianism, and Taoism. Primal Religions are often mistaken to be the religion of the
primitive man, often thought to be unintelligent. There is a definition of "primal" that is better
suited than unintelligent or primitive. Primal in terms of religion, refers to the lack of exposure to
technology, it is not "knowing" the state of consciousness given to many by the technological
environment. Primal religions preceded organized religion as we know it today by thousands of
years, in some cases millions, but are still present in the world today; we now call them tribal
religions. Within primal religions there are people who are knowledgeable about life, who are
knowledgeable about

DEFINITION ESSAY In its simplest terms, love is a four–letter word. Much like other words of
similar letter make up, when expressed it can evoke laughter, pleasure, pain, anger, and virtually any
wave of reaction. Love also can be confused with feelings of indigestion and gas. Houses have been

Synthesis Essay #2
The definition of beauty is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a
perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. Beauty has negative and positive
influences on mostly people. Beauty is described by the inside and outside of us. Due to beauty, our
self–esteem has been hurt dramatically, especially towards girls. Beauty is not always about our
outside looks but it's about our inside personality also. First of all, beauty has negative and positive

Definition of Education Essay
Definition of Education
Education what is it? It is defined as: 1. The act or process of educating or being educated. 2. The
knowledge or skill obtained or developed by a learning process. 3. A program of instruction of a
specified kind or level. 4.
The field of study that is concerned with the pedagogy of teaching and learning, according to the
American Heritage dictionary. Its etymology comes from the
Latin word "educatio which means to bring up"1 But what does that tell us. It says to me that
education is training not learning.
Education trains the youth into what society deems as a productive member. We are not educated to
seek out what our interests are . We are educated so we can produce things. The age of...show more

It is stated nowhere. Education should be about becoming enlightened to the works of the world.
I am not saying becoming a lawyer or a business person is wrong or inimical. What I am saying is
being a artist or philosopher is just as advantageous. In fact art and philosophy should be made
standard issue in schools. We all need to know how to think for ourselves. This is not an easy thing
to accomplish, we would need more money for schools in order to pay for teachers and materials.
This would not completely solve the problem however.
We must change the way we think and take control of ourselves. It is essential that we not be lead
blindly. It is time that we hold people accountable for their actions. No longer are we be to lead by
people just because they belong to a political party that we belong to. Instead we must be
independent in our thoughts. Most importantly education should be a tool not a crutch.
Education is defined in many ways, however, they all mean the same thing.
To be formed into the mold of a productive worker. What does this do for the world? Nothing, it
creates another mindless drone to carry out the work of its master. The people in power do not
want this to change because it serves their purposes. We must change or over time we will lose our
ability to think for ourselves. Then we are truly "dammed" to subservience. What type of life could
that ever be? A life in which we could not

Goodness Definition Essay
Goodness, as defined by Webster's Dictionary, is "The quality of being good in any of its various
senses; excellence; virtue; kindness; benevolence". This means that if you are good, or make
good choices you can achieve excellence, virtue, kindness, and benevolence. If everyone had
goodness, then we would have a world of no crime, no bullies, and no gangs. This is reason why
people should make good decisions in their life. When people make good choices, they have a
good feeling inside. When one sees someone drop their wallet, and he or she picks it up and returns
it to them, they are grateful, which makes people happy or glad that they made that choice. When
one decides to keep that wallet, he or she has just robbed a man (Which is against

Essay on What is a good life?
What is a good life?
In today's world, humans are often misled on what really is a good life. We are constantly shown
through the television and magazines that being rich and famous is the way to go when it comes
to a good life, when in truth many of them are miserable by problems that usually wouldn't affect
the common person. In truth there are only a few that are rich and famous and do achieve what
can probably considered one of the greatest achievement's by a man which is having a good life.
In my opinion, the decision if someone has a good life or not is up to them and their will to strive
for something better than average during the high school years of their life. The reason I feel like it
begins at that age in their life is...show more content...
I also believe that to some people religion does play a large part of their lives and how they might
live it according to how their religion tells them to. Subjectively, if someone lives by the book or
the belief of their religion it will make them happier to know that they accomplished what their
"god" has set for them to do with their life, and ultimately letting them into the "afterlife" (or
heaven) of their religion. Besides the factors that a person can control in their life to make it good,
there are also many things in play that one cannot control such as health. Being healthy can be
considered one of the most valuable aspects of a person's life. It can also be one of those aspects
that can control the probability if someone getting a job, earning an adequate income, and a
person's range of active activities. According to an OECD study, people with good health have
always shown to be happier in most aspects but have a huge increase in happiness when it comes to
marriages and relationships. During the duration of my life I have met many people that go
through or have someone close to them that have had some type serious sickness, and what I have
always noticed is that during those times they look like the most miserable people on the planet.
Whenever I try to put myself in their position it's really hard for me to imagine myself being in

Good Words For Definition Essay

  • 1. What is Good? Essay What is Good? Good, a word used by all, but most not truly knowing what the true concept of good actually is. What is good? Good, in my own understanding, entails an act or statement that is, not only morally and perceptively correct in the eyes of others, but also in one's own eyes. There is a sense of accomplishment; a sense of achievement felt when something good has been done. This feeling usually does not only pertain to the individual, but also to those around him who might have benefited in one way or another from his/her good deed or statement. It is important to note that morals only apply to individual action and consequence. Ethics, however, apply to the actions of two or more people. Ethics are meaningless unless...show more content... Good can be thought of as situations in which one is found to have more pleasure in his/her life due to the occurrence of that specific event. One can receive more pleasure in life by getting a new job. A new job would give someone money and the opportunity to do more things that would add pleasure to their life. An example of this in my life would be a job I just recently got in which I am now making more money than I was at my old job. With this job, I now have more money to do more things that will help to bring more pleasure in my life. I will never be able to do all things that I would like to do and this is where Plato's idea of good being unattainable is demonstrated. Something that is unachievable would seem to have different opinions based on different personal beliefs. There are the ethical and moral stands on each issue and oneself and the people around them determine this sense of good by acknowledging the ethical and moral standpoints and determining what is more important to them regarding their decision. If something makes you and the people around you happy, then what happened to cause this occurrence was good. For instance, scoring the game–winning touchdown in a football game is good because your whole team will be happy about that touchdown and about winning the game. Another instance of this would be talking to your best friend after he/she just heard some bad news and cheering them up is good. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Definition Essay On Greed What is greed? I think of the word greed and a sense of instability comes to my mind. Instability reminds me of a symbol of lacking stability of maturity around the world. I do not hear the word greed very often however I experience it. People are unaware of being greedy. It has a strong, disgusting, passive meaning to it. Greed represents a tacky, ignoble person who expects to receive everything that has great value. Greed is known as the desire for money, popularity or fame or even a higher authority of something. Being greedy is trying to succeed happiness and satisfaction for your own doing. In one word, they become selfish. Many people who are greedy experience transformation to becoming conceited, impatient and selfish, but many people...show more content... Coaches are meant to lift your spirits, motivate you, influence you to be the best and encourage a comeback after a mistake. My coach has not expressed a nice side and lately I have noticed a heightened greediness in him. If you are a part of his life it is about his life, his ego and what he wants. His ego caught up with him and he is self centered towards everyone around him. I am coming back from an injury and my self esteem is very low and he I do not play a lot when I use to be a starter. I use to have high hopes for a comeback, but recently my coach brought me down by telling me that since I didn't play, the team won. He also made players from different teams come to a tournament and spend there money to stay the night, but did not play them a single minute. He does not think of other people, only himself. My teammates are constantly told by him "you will never be as fast as them so stop trying." He is now the most greediest 40 year old I know. However, he does not know he is greedy. I guess to me there is only one definition of greed... the act of being selfish. In the long run, the greedy people because self conscious, angry, frustrated and discontent with life because you are trying the hardest not to lose the wealth that was accumulated over time. Over time the greed takes over and you lose what has real value to your life which are friends and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Definition Essay Definition Essay Forgiveness by the World English Dictionary is the "act of forgiving; state of being forgiven, disposition or willingness to forgive". But what does it really mean? That is my question. Is being able to forgive and not forget the same thing? In my life, I have found that true forgiveness is a quality that separates us from other species and it is what makes us human. In order to truly and sincerely forgive, one must, aside from saying they have forgiven the person, let it go and not hold a grudge against that person. Just, as Mahatma Gandhi once said: "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." I believe that holds to be true. Only a humble human being can attain the quality to completely...show more content... I found that I forgave easier or not depending on severity of the circumstance and on the person whom I was forgiving or not. I believe it is easier to forgive an enemy than a person you love because a loved one are not supposed to hurt you in any way. I realized that those who I care more cause the most pain. When I was a child, every time I saw my mother crying and hurting from all the abuse induced by her husband, the person who was supposed to protect her, I ask God, why? I never received an answer. As the abuse continued and life went on, I was never able to forgive him for thesuffering that he caused not only to my mother, but to me as well. I was carrying all the miseries from my childhood and taking out on the people who love and care for me. There was no closure for the pain and suffering. The only person that I saw comfort and security from was my father, a man who never allowed me to pity myself or blame myself for other's actions. He was always there for me until my eighteenth birthday when he decided that I was "old enough to be on my own;" it was his own way to attempt making me independent. Everything became blurry at that point in my life. There was nowhere to turn except the only person who had the opportunities in her eighty years to master the meaning of true forgiveness: my grandmother, Consuelo, which her name literally means to console. Living with her and listening to her life stories allowed me to comprehend Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Definition Essay On Language I'm from Arkansas, so naturally I speak differently than someone from New York or even the next state over. My family sticks to a very interesting word choice that can be seen as southern almost immediately. My mom, while she does say "y'all" occasionally, went to Alaska and The Hamptons in New York for a while and lessened her southern twang by a mile. My dad, on the other hand, says every know n country thing as he fully embraced the farm life. Ain't, reckon, y'all, and all those type of words that aren't really words and don't really make sense when used in a sentence, are the type my family uses when we're at home. Of course, some of the coarser talk stays home when we go to church, but even there, everyone's southern belle accent shows....show more content... My little sister uses good grammar and involves herself in the opposite culture of the rest of my family like I did, such as cheerleading, generally excellent grammar, and knows when and where to use the southern style wording we grew up around. She doesn't say "ain't" or anything like that. If anyone accuses her of being "country", she says, "I'm not country, I'm a southern belle." In conclusion, a pattern I've discovered between culture and language variation in my family is that the viewpoints of being a redneck and the viewpoint of being a southern belle cause a person to use different dialects, even if their from the exact same household. Though it's very different from a northerner's speech, I feel like my sister's way of speaking is closer to that than my brother's and my dad's due to their lack of proper english that was passed down generation after generation of wanting to be redneck and play in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. What Is Religion? Essay What is religion? Each person's definition of religion is different. Each person's faith is different. This is a question that has been asked for centuries, and regardless of the answer given there is no right or wrong answer. Religion can be defined as a group of people who have shared beliefs who feel their life has purpose or meaning. This feeling or belief that their life has meaning can come from outside of themselves, as well as within. Taking this one step further, these shared beliefs put into action in the form of worship, can be easily identified because they happen regularly. It can be said the Primal religions were in fact not religions. Some may argue Confucianism is not a religion. Others may say Taoism is not a...show more content... They are teachings learned by previous generations then passed down, they are not always actions. The fifth feature of religion is grace. Grace is defined by Smith as "the belief and assurance that reality is on our side and can be counted on." Lastly there is mystery. For this there is no exact definition, but it is all of what a religion cannot explain, it is all that the human mind cannot grasp, it is the certain "higher power" that religion offers. Of these six features, there are three that are present in most all religions, they are: authority, tradition, and mystery. Authority, tradition, and mystery further explore and define religion when looking specifically at Primal Religions, Confucianism, and Taoism. Primal Religions are often mistaken to be the religion of the primitive man, often thought to be unintelligent. There is a definition of "primal" that is better suited than unintelligent or primitive. Primal in terms of religion, refers to the lack of exposure to technology, it is not "knowing" the state of consciousness given to many by the technological environment. Primal religions preceded organized religion as we know it today by thousands of years, in some cases millions, but are still present in the world today; we now call them tribal religions. Within primal religions there are people who are knowledgeable about life, who are knowledgeable about Defining Religion–4 traditions, and who are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The knowledge or skill obtained or developed by a learning process. 3. A program of instruction of a specified kind or level. 4. The field of study that is concerned with the pedagogy of teaching and learning, according to the American Heritage dictionary. Its etymology comes from the Latin word "educatio which means to bring up"1 But what does that tell us. It says to me that education is training not learning. I am not saying becoming a lawyer or a business person is wrong or inimical. What I am saying is being a artist or philosopher is just as advantageous. In fact art and philosophy should be made standard issue in schools. We all need to know how to think for ourselves. This is not an easy thing to accomplish, we would need more money for schools in order to pay for teachers and materials. This would not completely solve the problem however. We must change the way we think and take control of ourselves. It is essential that we not be lead blindly. It is time that we hold people accountable for their actions. No longer are we be to lead by people just because they belong to a political party that we belong to. Instead we must be independent in our thoughts. Most importantly education should be a tool not a crutch. Education is defined in many ways, however, they all mean the same thing. To be formed into the mold of a productive worker. What does this do for the world? Nothing, it creates another mindless drone to carry out the work of its master. The people in power do not want this to change because it serves their purposes. We must change or over time we will lose our ability to think for ourselves. Then we are truly "dammed" to subservience. What type of life could that ever be? This means that if you are good, or make good choices you can achieve excellence, virtue, kindness, and benevolence. If everyone had goodness, then we would have a world of no crime, no bullies, and no gangs. This is reason why people should make good decisions in their life. When people make good choices, they have a good feeling inside. • 12. Essay on What is a good life? What is a good life? In today's world, humans are often misled on what really is a good life. We are constantly shown through the television and magazines that being rich and famous is the way to go when it comes to a good life, when in truth many of them are miserable by problems that usually wouldn't affect the common person. In truth there are only a few that are rich and famous and do achieve what can probably considered one of the greatest achievement's by a man which is having a good life. In my opinion, the decision if someone has a good life or not is up to them and their will to strive for something better than average during the high school years of their life. The reason I feel like it begins at that age in their life is...show more content... I also believe that to some people religion does play a large part of their lives and how they might live it according to how their religion tells them to. Subjectively, if someone lives by the book or the belief of their religion it will make them happier to know that they accomplished what their "god" has set for them to do with their life, and ultimately letting them into the "afterlife" (or heaven) of their religion. Besides the factors that a person can control in their life to make it good, there are also many things in play that one cannot control such as health. Being healthy can be considered one of the most valuable aspects of a person's life. It can also be one of those aspects that can control the probability if someone getting a job, earning an adequate income, and a person's range of active activities. According to an OECD study, people with good health have always shown to be happier in most aspects but have a huge increase in happiness when it comes to marriages and relationships. During the duration of my life I have met many people that go through or have someone close to them that have had some type serious sickness, and what I have always noticed is that during those times they look like the most miserable people on the planet.
