To Whom It May Concern:
When I was interviewed for a
position at Ridgeland High School, the
Principal asked me where I saw myself
in five years; my sure response was
administration. I did not need time to
think about it because it had been
pressed upon my heart before hand. I
would love to share with you as to why at a later time. Since then, I have been
working on as much experience as I could get my hands on thereby learning from
the administrative staff at Ridgeland High School.
For the past two years I have been part of an administrative trainee
program at RHS. During this time I have job shadowed and been given duties of an
administrator at RHS. I have served with AP Coach Parrott on a discipline
committee and have aided him with his responsibilities as Athletic Director during
this past year’s football season. I have gleaned information and application from
AP Gary Record throughout the mornings and afternoons as he would equip and
give me hands on training opportunities with his duties. I have been called upon to
substitute foradministrators when they are absent during morning, lunch and bus
duties. It has been my pleasure to be in charge of the 9th Grade Academy Incentive
Committee and helping Mr. Record with those duties as well. I have also sought to
learn how tribunals operate and how cases are presented before the panel and were
able to serve with Gary Record to present a case. I have also been asked to be part
of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports committee, I am also certified in
this area from the State. I was selected by the administration to be TKES
Credentialed as an evaluator. Being part of the pilot program for TKES for the past
three years, I could provide vital information to teachers who have to implement
this for the first time this year. Other experiences include learning how to
implement and manipulate the master schedule and teacher duties and
responsibilities. I know that my experiences at Ridgeland have opened my eyes to a
different world- a world to which that of an average teacher is unaware.
I would like to take some time to give you an idea of who I am besides just
an employee with Walker County Schools. I am a former combat veteran that could
prove beneficial to the safety of yourschool. As a former Non-Commissioned
officer (NCO) I have trained many soldiers to meet the demands and tresses of
combat as well as being the example for them to follow. I understand the Army’s
BE KNOW DO principles of leadership and l try to implement such leadership as an
Administrative Trainee at Ridgeland High School. I am a husband and father of
two. My wife taught 3rd grade for 6 years and ESOL for 1 year and now she stays at
home taking care of our children.
