Weaning describes the process of introducing solid foods into your baby’s diet. This is a process that generally begins from 6 months onwards, prior to which your baby will have been drinking breast milk or formula milk - some parents may start their child slightly earlier, but 4 months is the absolute minimum age for starting the weaning process.

During the first year of life your baby grows quickly than any other period of
time, making it important for you to offer your baby different foods, such as
our halal baby food - varying in tastes and textures to get the energy and
important nutrients required to help them grow. Weaning is also a vital
process in helping them develop new skills related to the body and the senses.

2. The signs that your baby is ready to start weaning
There are some key observations you can make to ascertain whether it’s time
to start to introduce solids to your little one’s diet.
1. Can they stay in a sitting position and hold their head steady?
2. Can they focus on food, pick it up and bring it to their mouth all by
themselves?
3. Does it seem like they want to chew?
4. Do they swallow food and keep it in their mouth, rather than all over it?
5. Do they no longer appear satisfied after usual feeding?
If you can answer ‘yes’ to all of the above, then your baby is ready to start
